NCET, Northern Nevada’s largest educational and networking organization, crossed an important milestone this month as it welcomed its 600th member.

Jonathan Devich, a nationally recognized photographer who has covered sports and other events around the world, became the 600th member of NCET.

Devich was drawn to NCET, the largest educational and networking organization in Northern Nevada, for the same benefits that have proven attractive since NCET became a membership-based organization in 2010.

“I’m newer to the area and wanted to not only get my business name out there but also meet people in the community,” he said. “I’ve done a lot of international work but I really wanted to put down roots and have more ties to the community, so I felt like NCET would be a good way to do that.”

He learned of NCET through his fiancé, Libby Belli, director of marketing at Prominence Health Plan, and quickly found that NCET provides a way to meet enthusiastic, supportive business people.

“I’ve also really enjoyed the speakers and what I’ve learned from them.” Devich said. “Reno is booming and I’m very happy to be associated with NCET so that I can be a part of it.”

Dave Archer, the president and chief executive officer of NCET, said the growth of NCET reflects the value that its members find in its portfolio of more than 40 events each year.

Those events, which provide useful information to small businesses and entrepreneurs, range from monthly programs that typically each draw 100 attendees to annual events that draw hundreds of participants.

Archer said NCET’s success is built on its memberships, which range from $50 to $1,000 a year, as well as the work of its board of directors who have each hands-on responsibility for a segment of NCET’s work.

“NCET is an inspiring example of the power of a community of motivated leaders and supportive members,” Archer said. “All of Northern Nevada can take pride in its growth.”
