Attendees of the NCET Tech Wednesday event will have a unique opportunity to explore the Valley Services Electronics (VSE) Reno manufacturing site, gaining firsthand insight into the advanced processes behind Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) production.
Presentations will be provided by VSE CEO Beth Kendrick, Production Manager Joe Martinez, and COO Chris Homewood.
The tour begins at Receiving Inspection, where all incoming materials and components undergo rigorous quality checks to ensure they meet the precise specifications required by VSE’s customers. Here, visitors will learn about the critical role of quality assurance in sourcing and verifying components before they enter production.
Next, the tour moves into the Mechanical Assembly area, where skilled technicians integrate enclosures, heat sinks, and other structural components with precision. This stage showcases how VSE ensures that all mechanical elements fit seamlessly, providing a strong foundation for the final assembled product.
From there, attendees will step into the Wiring area, where dedicated technicians carefully route and secure wiring harnesses. This process ensures optimal connectivity, durability, and reliability—key factors in delivering high-performance electronic assemblies.
One of the most exciting stops on the tour is the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) area. Here, visitors will witness high-speed pick-and-place machines in action, precisely positioning electronic components onto circuit boards with incredible accuracy. This highly automated process is essential for modern PCBA manufacturing, ensuring both efficiency and consistency.
To conclude the tour, attendees will visit VSE’s Quality Departments, where every product undergoes extensive testing and validation. Here, VSE’s experts will demonstrate the company’s rigorous quality control measures, ensuring that each PCBA meets the highest industry standards before reaching customers.
Throughout the tour, VSE specialists will highlight how the company seamlessly integrates automation with hands-on craftsmanship, delivering high-quality PCBAs that power a wide range of industries. Whether you're an industry professional, entrepreneur, or tech enthusiast, this behind-the-scenes look at VSE’s cutting-edge manufacturing facility offers valuable insights into the intricate world of PCBA production.
