Are you using all the visual tools available to showcase your business or service to potential clients? Here are some tips so that you can take advantage of easily accessible tools to push your brand visually and polish your visual online identity.

Why are visuals so important on your website and social media?

Build Customer Trust and Loyalty.

Your website or social media pages can be the first touchpoint for potential clients. It is crucial that you use visuals that will not only grab attention but also showcase your business in a personal way, even telling a story about your organization. We have seen countless websites that have stock photos or video and that doesn’t give your audience a feel for what it is that you really do. Start by including photos or video bios of your team members, your facility, your products or your team members working with your clients. It creates credibility and a way for your audience to connect with your business and the people that work with you.

Visuals are a great way to explain your product or service.

However, people have very short attention spans so go for a concise message. A quick video on your homepage could be the key to landing that new client. Create an easy way for people to understand what it is that you do, how you approach business or what your products can do for people.

Visuals can also help your Search Rankings. Google has adjusted its algorithm and puts a priority on websites with videos and YouTube is the second biggest search engine. There is no denying that people love video content, just make sure that you are providing content that your audience will find value in.

There are many studies of the impact that video has on brand recognition but at the conservative end, it’s 20-times more impactful to share your message with video.  That’s worth looking into!

So how do you get started using visuals to showcase your business?

You first need to decide whether to shoot the content yourself (in-house) or hire a professional. For social media, you typically need quite a bit of content on a consistent basis and this is the perfect time to take some photos or videos in-house. The technology in phone cameras is great these days for this type of work. Find yourself some good light and give it a try. Think “big window” in front of you for lighting. Stay away from “backlight” situations as your camera or phone reads all the light and you become a silloutte.

Hire professionals for visuals that need to have a strategic, long-term presence (meaning, not just an instagram story or single social post). Campaigns, product photography for your website, team photos, business showcase videos, commercials, etc. Why? Professionals have more experience at presenting your product or service in its best light - literally and figuratively.

Develop a plan to up your visual game in 2022. It could be as simple as removing some of those stock photos and putting more effort into getting personalized visuals that resonate with your audience.
