Sarah Johns Named NCET’s New President and CEO

For the first time in more than 16 years, Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology – popularly known as NCET – has a new leader.  Sarah Johns has been named President and CEO and replaces Dave Archer who is retiring on April 30 after 16 years with NCET.

“I am honored for the opportunity to lead NCET, an organization which has provided so much to the Northern Nevada community for more than two decades, and which remains Northern Nevada’s largest educational and networking organization,” said Johns. “NCET’s success is due to Dave’s phenomenal leadership and willingness to reinvent the organization as our community has evolved.”

Johns has extensive experience in communications and networking with 20 years’ experience in television. She has also worked as Director of Public Relations for a tech startup, and most recently she was the Public Information Officer for the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. Johns was recognized in 2017 by the Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network as one of Northern Nevada’s 20 Under 40. In 2018, Johns received the 2018 Sierra Nevada Top-20 Powerful Women award from Northern Nevada Business Weekly.

“I’m privileged to have served NCET for 16 years and to have built NCET into a thriving organization that serves the evolving educational and networking needs of Northern Nevada’s business and technology community,” Archer said, “And I can’t think of anyone better than Sarah to take NCET to the next level.  Her background in media as well as her experience in private industry and public service make her the perfect person to continue NCET’s mission.”
