In early February, if you had talked to someone at the Reno Chamber of Commerce or even NCET, they’d say their role was to connect Nevada businesses, help them manage growth and find great talent. In the wake of COVID-19, the story has changed.

Business organizations have adapted and providing new value to local companies. “Today, businesses are more likely to turn to their professional organizations to help tap emergency federal assistance for small businesses or to get tips on management of remote workforces,” writes John Seelmeyer for This is Reno.

While business has slowed for many right now and things are uncertain, there is also opportunity in the lull for entrepreneurs to invest in their business.

“When they’re busy, business owners often find it hard to work on their business,” said NCET President Dave Archer in the article. “If your business has slowed, this is the perfect time to step back and take a hard look at your business. What’s working well?  What’s not working?”

Business organizations in Reno, Nevada, like NCET and the Chamber of Commerce, are pivoting to serve their members based on their needs right now and in the recovery. Learn more about what they are doing in the original article.
