Archer Re-Elected as President of NCET

Five other board members were re-elected to their positions as well.

Dave Archer has been re-elected as president and CEO of NCET, a member-supported non-profit that produces educational and networking events to help people explore businesses and technology.

Re-elected to the NCET board were Mikalee Byerman, Jon Edmondo, Annie Flanzraich, Andy Jorgensen and Henry Merschel.

Archer, now in his 14th year with NCET, previously held executive positions in international product and market development at Viacom, Home Box Office, AOL Netscape and Headlight before joining NCET.

He earned a master’s degree in business and a bachelor’s degree in management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., and earned associate’s degrees in electronics engineering and broadcast engineering from the College of San Mateo.

Archer is also a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s EPSCoR Advisory Committee, and past chair of Entrepreneurship Nevada.

Byerman, who serves as NCET’s vice president of podcasting, is vice president of strategy for the Estipona Group, a Reno-based creative agency. She is the author of “100 Things to Do in Reno Before You Die,” a humor essayist and keynote speaker, and was recently voted “Best Local Author 2019″ by the News & Review.

Byerman holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno.


Edmondo, re-elected as co-vice president of Tech Wednesdays, works as director of sales for industrial labels at iGraphics Precision Printing.

He has more than 25 years of experience managing successful sales and marketing organizations for small and large corporations in the electronics, printing, graphics and financial services industries.

Edmondo earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from Ohio University.

Flanzraich, re-elected as NCET’s vice president of communications for Tech Wednesday, is an award-winning content strategist, editor and writer. She owns Flanz Writes, a Reno-based business that offers strategy, editing, writing and other content services. Since 2016, Flanz Writes has helped clients in Nevada, the United States and around the world create annual reports, special magazines, regular blog posts, scripts, op-ed pieces and more.

Before launching Flanz Writes in 2016, Flanzraich was the creative development manager of RGJ Media and the editor of RENO Magazine.

Flanzraich’s editorial experience also includes four years of managing newspapers on Lake Tahoe’s north and south shores. She’s also worked with the Associated Press, Las Vegas Sun and Nevada Broadcasters Association.

A University of Nevada, Reno alumna, Flanzraich graduated from the Reynolds School of Journalism.

Jorgensen, re-elected as vice president of creative services for NCET, does IT for startups and graphic design. He is currently the IT Lead at Flirtey, a drone-delivery startup based in Reno.

Andy Jorgensen

Jorgensen previously did IT at Rehearsal and directed the Nevada Ready 21 program at the Nevada Department of Education, has been a K-12 technology director and computer science teacher, works as a freelancer, and is the bassist in the local art-rock band, Schizopolitans.

Merschel, re-elected as vice president of metrics and analytics, is the digital strategist for The Abbi Agency, where he develops meaningful insights from large amounts of raw data that is collected by integrated marketing and PR efforts.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from San Francisco State University and holds certifications in software including Hubspot and Google Analytics.
