Ray Gonzelez is hoping to break down stereotypes of success and get real in the areas so many high achieving professionals are never taught to properly deal with — mental health, relationships, physical well being, personal struggles, and how to ask for help. Through time and experience, Ray has learned to transform his tumultuous life from a state of constant chaos and anguish into one of immense strength, serenity, and success. His hope is that if he shares his story, he can teach others how to take small steps each day towards better life balance through the three pillars that saved his own life: mental, physical and financial fitness.
Like fitness, growth doesn’t happen in one day. Ray is here to teach other highly driven individuals how to enjoy the journey in finding the real version of themselves.
Maintaining balance as a highly successful leader requires forming a genuine relationship with yourself.
Don’t compare your greatness or success with others.
Being successful isn’t just about financial wellness, it should also mean having a sense of purpose and making an impact.
How can you learn to embrace who you really are while honoring the parts of you that are hard to swallow?
The biggest investment you can make in your career is in yourself.
Ray Gonzalez was only a few months old when his family relocated to the United States from Mexico. He is the oldest of nine siblings – four brothers and four sisters. They grew up in a three-bedroom trailer in Winnemucca, Nevada – a rural community in eastern Nevada with a population of roughly 8,000 people. It’s there he says he learned the value of supporting and protecting family.
Ray’s ambition in life was to be known as the most successful person to emerge from his hometown. He credits his successful 30-year career as a financial advisor to his tenacious character – he was on a mission to prove everyone wrong.
But Ray has shifted his commitment in life to demonstrating to others that financial success is not the only metric to a happy life. In sharing his own lived experience in succumbing to untreated depression and anxiety, he hopes to teach others how to embrace support and empower themselves to discover their true self, and in turn find true happiness and success.
