Experience the sweet journey of Sierra Nevada Chocolates with our exclusive business tour in Midtown.
Our tour begins with a captivating narrative of Sierra Nevada Chocolate Co.’s beginnings, and the story of how it provides employment to people of ALL abilities. A family-owned business, proprietor Carol Reitz was presented the opportunity to purchase the business in 2017. Knowing nothing about chocolate, but knowing it would provide an opportunity for her son, Justin, who is autistic – Carol went for it.
Now, Sierra Nevada Chocolates is known for the toffee that Justin makes Justin and Friends TOFFEE (The Opportunity For Fundraising, Equity and Empowerment). One of the highlights of our tour is witnessing the inspiring journey of individuals like Justin, who find purpose and empowerment through job training opportunities at Sierra Nevada Chocolates. A true testament to the company’s commitment to inclusion and support for individuals with disabilities.
On this tour, you’ll:
Learn the art of hand-rolling truffles
Venture into the bustling basement, a treasure trove filled with packaging materials, decorations, and thousands of molds
