Sierra Nevada College posted a strong showing at the 12th Annual D.W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup business plan competition on April 14, 2016, winning first place in the undergraduate division, while also earning the coveted Lt. Governor’s Award. Competitors from Nevada’s colleges and universities pitched their businesses on April 13 to a panel of expert judges in Reno. More than $100,000 in cash prizes were distributed to winners in three categories during a reception dinner at the Atlantis Casino Resort.

TEKTOR received a $25,000 cash prize and the opportunity to compete in the Donald W. Reynolds Tri-State Competition (finalists hail from Arkansas, Nevada and Oklahoma) on May 25-26 in Las Vegas.
Warrior Adventure Rapport, the brainchild of SNC Tahoe students Jason Maynez, Nick Galantowicz and Gregory Gonzalez, won the Lt. Governor’s Award, and a $10,000 prize. Their business, an outdoor recreational therapeutic program to treat PTSD, was designed to help veterans of war.
