Leading through a global pandemic and national instability is hard enough. When we add on the normal human issues, people are burned out, stressed out, and checking out. It’s not that scarcity, fear, and uncertainty are new, but rather most organizations haven’t invested in skill-building around the things that make us human – like our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Which facing external pressures (like pandemics and nationwide chaos) is not only overwhelming and seemingly impossible, leaders are drowning in exhaustion and hopelessness, but are showing up in ways that are making things worse.
The latest research squashes the myth that courage is something you either have or don’t. In fact, we now know that courage is teachable, measurable, and observable. It’s quickly become one of the most important skill sets to teach, develop, and practices in organizations as well as schools. Just imagine what could be different in your organization, on your team, or for yourself if people were braver and your culture was courageous.
Amber’s presentation will cover:
- The top three things killing organizations and fostering burnout.
- Why fear isn’t the problem (and what is!)
- What it takes to lead when things are uncertain, risky, and emotions are on the line.
- The pillars of brave leadership and courageous cultures.
- Skills you can use right now to be brave and practice courage.
