11:30 – Noon: Networking
Noon – 1 pm: Program
Why YOU Need to Blog and How to Get Started
According to management guru Tom Peters, “blogging is the best damn marketing tool I’ve ever had by an order of magnitude.” The best part is blogging is free! Whether you are building your business or personal brand, blogging is the single most effective way to document your value, what you can do uniquely well to help others address opportunities and solve problems that matter to them. Until Google stops rewarding fresh, relevant content in ranking search results, blogging will remain an essential part of every successful marketing strategy
On February 25, Bret Simmons, Associate Professor of Management at UNR, will discuss the enormous value of blogging. He will give pointers on getting started with your blog, topics to blog about, how much time to invest in blogging, and how to hire a professional for your blogging needs. He will also demonstrate the reasons that blogging works and discuss how soon to expect some return on your blogging time.
By the time you leave the luncheon you will feel ready to tackle the world of the blog.
