Describing one’s work has long been a staple of small talk at parties.
Ask Jarrod Lopiccolo what he does the next time you see him at a social function, however, and expect the small talk to last longer than a plate of hors d’oeuvres.
As chief executive officer and founding partner of the digital agency Noble Studios in Reno, Lopiccolo’s work spans several fields ranging from Web and app development to social media integration.
Just like his clients, Lopiccolo’s explanations of his job can be quite diverse — and usually changes depending on the person he is talking to.
“We use a lot of analogies to explain what we provide,” Lopiccolo said with a chuckle. “We have to be able to humanize ourselves and explain what we do through other people’s goggles.”
Whatever it is that Lopiccolo does, it’s apparently working. Since Lopiccolo and wife, Season, started Noble Studios from their house eight years ago, the company has grown to employ 25 and serve an international client list that includes high-profile San Francisco-based AutoCAD software maker Autodesk.
