Jonathan Burke and Kurt Thigpen have been re-elected to the board of directors of NCET, a member-supported non-profit that produces educational and networking events to help people explore businesses and technology.
Burke, an independent financial planner specializing in business and estate planning, was re-elected as NCET’s vice president of audio-visual.
He joined MassMutual Boulder Basin after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a double major in mathematics and chemical engineering. A Nevada native, he said he is “motivated to benefit our community as a whole, and excited to contribute to the great things NCET is doing for Reno.”
Thigpen, elected vice president of e-mail services, is chief executive officer of Ace Studios, a multimedia marketing startup headquartered in Reno.
A graduate of Southeastern Technical College, Thigpen has more than eight years experience in digital marketing.
“Jonathan and Kurt play key roles in helping NCET deliver excellent programming and services to its members,” said Dave Archer, president and CEO of the nonprofit. “We deeply appreciate their willingness to serve their community through leadership roles in NCET.”
NCET, Northern Nevada’s largest networking organization, is a member-supported nonprofit organization that produces educational and networking events to help people explore business and technology. NCET’s award-winning programs include the annual NCET Small Business Expo and NCET Tech Awards, and the monthly Biz Bite, Biz Café and Tech Wednesday events.
