NCET helps you explore business and technology
As a child, I looked forward with great anticipation to TV Guide’s Fall Preview of new and returning shows. With that in mind, I once again present NCET’s Fall Preview of programs and events designed to help Northern Nevada’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
NCET Small Business Expo, Sept. 22: My personal favorite, the 12th annual NCET Expo is Northern Nevada’s best networking event. The Expo is where you’ll meet the people who will help you start or grow your business. The Expo features 1,000 business people with whom you can network, 100 exhibitors and a dozen educational sessions. This year’s educational track focuses on resources for small businesses, legal issues, marketing, branding, media outreach, and reputation management. Free to attend with a business card. www.NCETexpo.org
National Clean Energy Summit 7.0 – Sept 4 (Las Vegas): After a one-year hiatus, the National Clean Energy Summit returns to Las Vegas, where it brings together clean energy visionaries and leaders, public officials, business executives, energy policy experts, entrepreneurs and investors to discuss the economic and environmental benefits of innovative technologies. Hosted by former U.S. Senator Harry Reid and Governor Brian Sandoval, speakers include former Vice President Al Gore, Ernest Moniz, former U.S. Secretary Of Energy, and Jim Murren, Chairman & CEO Of MGM Resorts International. www.cleanenergysummit.org
Biggest Little Startup Fair, October 11: All students and local startups are invited to The Biggest Little Startup Fair. The event will be structured to combine elements of a trade showeshow and career fair, providing a venue for companies to exhibit their products and services, and for individuals interested in career opportunities to meet potential employers in the startup community. There will be a Live DJ spinning music at the event, as well as free appetizers for the participating startups and early bird students. www.facebook.com/events/112170362835886/
NCET’s 2nd Annual State of Digital Marketing Industry, Nov 2: NCET is bringing together some of the top minds in marketing for a special panel discussion on the current state of digital marketing while looking to the future on such topics as content, website personalization, social media, search. and marketing trends. Don’t miss this chance to learn about what’s happening, what’s about to happen, and how digital marketing ties in to the ultimate success of your business. Panelists include Abbi Whitaker of The Abbi Agency, Jarrod Lopiccolo of Noble Studios and Rob Armstrong of Bombora, with more panelists added soon. www.NCETspecial.org
TEDxUniversityofNevada, Jan. 27, 2018: At the 6th annual TEDxUniversityofNevada event, live speakers and TED Talks videos combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. This year’s event will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, where speakers and participants will share and discuss ideas worth spreading! www.tedxuniversityofnevada.org
