Dave Archer – President/CEO
Dave Archer is President and CEO of NCET, a member-supported nonprofit organization that produces networking events to help individuals and businesses explore and use technology. NCET has been named “Nonprofit of the Year” by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
Dave has over 40 years’ experience in all facets of US and international product and market development, including 17 years at Viacom where he introduced numerous new products and services such as Pay-Per-View, home shopping, high-speed data services and “OSN,” the Middle East’s largest multi-lingual cable TV and satellite programming service. Following Viacom, Dave joined Home Box Office in New York as Senior Vice President of International, and then served as head of International Websites at AOL Netscape. Before joining NCET, Dave worked at Headlight, a leading provider of online training services, as Vice President of Business Development and Sales.
Dave holds an MBA and a BA in Management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA, and AS degrees in Electronics Engineering and Broadcast Engineering from the College of San Mateo in San Mateo, CA.
Dave is the co-founder of the Reno Angels, Past Chair of Entrepreneurship Nevada, and a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s EPSCoR Advisory Committee. Dave was recently named the American Marketing Association’s “Influencer of the Year, and previous awards include Nevada Nonprofit News’ “Nonprofit Executive of the Year” and the Reno-Tahoe AMA’s “Marketer of the Year.”
Dan Brewster – VP of Email Services
Dan Brewster is from Minnesota, originally. After high school, a few years in the US Navy, and a year in San Jose, he moved to Carson City as a Field Service Engineer with StorageTek in 1979. An expanding machine base brought Dan to Reno in 1983. Sun Microsystems bought StorageTek in 2005 followed by Oracle buying Sun in 2010.
Dan became involved with NCET in 2013 and accepted a position on the board in 2014.
Regular outdoor activities and photograph get him moving in the early morning or up late taking moonlit photographs.
Mikalee Byerman – VP of Communications
Mikalee Byerman is a prolific writer, editor and communications strategist, with hundreds of published clips — both in print and in pixels — sporting her byline. She is highly skilled in numerous styles of writing: editorial to advertorial, factual to funny, case study to personality profile, web to B2B, blog to promotional and beyond.
For almost two decades, she has worked as a writer, marketing/PR director and communication consultant and has proudly called national, regional and local media outlets, private businesses and advertising agencies her clients. She has written for numerous print publications — including Ladies’ Home Journal, Alaska Airlines Magazine, the national Homes & Land publication and Southwest Spirit, the in-flight magazine for Southwest Airlines — books, websites and client collateral.
A social media nerd by passion and profession, Mikalee devotes much of her time and energy to learning about the latest tools and techniques. Her interest was born from her own experience, as she has written viral content that has gained the attention and links to Diet Coke, TIME Magazine and the Huffington Post.
Mikalee prides herself on her ability to articulate a distinct writing voice for every project customized to the appropriate audience. She has extensive experience crafting communication plans and drafting press releases, brochures, web copy, newsletters and all matters of marketing collateral.
Mikalee holds a master’s degree in journalism from the Reynold’s School of Journalism at the University of Nevada and is an accomplished former managing editor of a Gannett-owned Custom Publishing Group and three award-winning magazines. She currently serves as the Vice President of Communications for the Board of Directors for NCET, Nevada’s largest technology networking group, and is a regular contributor to Reno Moms Blog.
Kevin Ciccotti – VP of Membership
Kevin Ciccotti is a Certified Professional Coach and President of Human Factor Formula, Inc. Prior to forming his company in 2008, he spent 25 years working for International Game Technology, with more than 16 years in leadership roles in the Product Development Group.
He has been a student of peak performance and human behavior for more than three decades, and it was his passion for personal development that led him to go into professional coaching. He was trained at The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), and with the Robbins-Madanes Center for Strategic Intervention, founded by world-renowned human performance experts Anthony Robbins and Psychotherapist Cloé Madanes. He is certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF), CTI, and the Robbins-Madanes Center, and in 2012 was named President of the ICF Nevada Professional Coaches Association.
Kevin is an authority in helping project managers and emerging leaders in organizations to build stronger, more sustainable relationships with their teams, helping them to drive engagement, increase productivity, and lead to greater overall success. He brings proven tools and strategies to help leaders understand people’s needs, and helps them use that knowledge to create deeper, more resonant connections. When combined with the tools of Emotional Intelligence, these strategies form the foundation for creating sustainable success in any enterprise.
He has coached and trained leaders in a variety of organizations including mining, financial services, manufacturing, and technology, as well as multiple local, state, and national government agencies.
Nicole Rose Dion – VP of Social Media
Nicole Rose Dion is the Production Manager at Boost Creative, Co-VP of Social Media for NCET and sits on the board for AAF Reno.
Nicole Duxbury – VP of Social Media
Nicole Duxbury has been a part of The Abbi Agency team since January 2015 and works as the agency’s Social Content Executive. She received her degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon and believes that this insight into the human mind is what helps her succeed in this industry. In the office, she spends her time curating social media content for clients in a variety of industries including travel, food and beverage, and government. She also handles client communications, project management, and digital advertising strategy. She is well versed in today’s top social media platforms and knows how to spread any business’s message through social media advertising. She sees social media as a creative outlet and enjoys creating content that people enjoy and respond positively to. Nicole has spoken at workshops such as the City of Fallon’s Young Entrepreneur Collective and the Nevada Small Farms Conference in the hopes of educating others on the potential that social media holds for brands.
Jon Edmondo – VP of Tech Wednesday
Jon Edmondo has over 25 years of experience managing successful sales and marketing organizations for both small and large corporations. Jon has a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from Ohio University. Jon is active in the community, working with NCET and Peter Williamson, securing companies to host NCET’s Tech Wednesday events. Jon also volunteers his time at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and helping feed underprivileged children in the Truckee Meadows, through Pathfinders.
David Espinosa – VP of Email Services
David Espinosa is a successful technologist, author, husband, and father. David’s deep and steadfast beliefs are rooted in, and practicality forged through, decades of private sector work. David’s family is his anchor.
David was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1974. His family moved to Las Vegas when he was 6 years old, leaving behind everything including family and friends. He immediately enrolled in kindergarten in Clark County and graduated from Western High School in 1993.
Following graduation, he moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada, and has made a home in Northern Nevada ever since. During his time at the University, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and later returned to earn his Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems (MSIS).
David has found his professional calling in the business and technology arena. He has advanced through the ranks from an IT network engineer to Technology Architect. He has held numerous leadership positions during this time, primarily as a Project Manager, Solution Architect, and IT Management Leader. In addition, he has worked with publishing companies, and co-authored and edited technical publications.
David spent 15 years locally at IGT within both the IGT Information Technology department and the Engineering Architecture department.
Additionally, David was a developer and supervisor at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC). During his tenure at IGT and SNC, David’s core function was that of Microsoft platform development professional. His expertise in Windows, SQL Server, and the .NET development languages gained him both notoriety and insight to many complex business models within both corporations.
Most recently, David has become the IT Director for ITS Logistics, the largest Nevada based logistics company. David leads a team of ten IT professionals ranging in specialty from Network and Infrastructure, through project management, development, and security. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at ITS, David works hand in hand with all business unit heads at ITS in crafting both tactical and strategic direction.
David also believes deeply in giving back to the community. In addition to several boards and functions throughout the community including the City of Sparks Charter Commission and the Washoe County Citizen Advisory Board, David has been a lecturer at the University of Nevada since the Spring semester of 2015.
David has been married to his best friend, Cynthia since 1994. Together, Cynthia and David have 3 wonderful daughters: Jayme, Emily, and Adele.
Nancy Getsi – VP of Email Services
Nancy Getsi is the Vice President of Application Development and Support for Employers Insurance Co. of Nevada. She started her career in information technology 30 years ago as a programmer and has worked in a range of tech roles since then. Nancy’s career has spanned a variety of industries including manufacturing via our nations’ nuclear weapons complex, science and research at a national laboratory, healthcare and now insurance. Nancy earned her BS in Computer Science at a time when required classes included writing operating systems and compilers from scratch. She still has flash backs to the challenge of surviving a year of Assembler programming.
Nancy was named a 2014 Nevada Woman of Achievement for the Nevada Women’s Fund, has been profiled in articles focused on technology, women and education, and is a former columnist for Silicon Sally, a magazine that was dedicated to inspiring women in technology fields. Having moved to the Reno/Sparks area 10 years ago, Nancy is excited to work with NCET to highlight the wonderful opportunities available in our area. Born in Minnesota and raised in Tennessee by an American father and German mother, Nancy is known to slip into a southern drawl without realizing it while speaking either English or the little bit of German she remembers.
Andy Jorgensen – VP of Design
Andy is an experienced leader in technology, business and K-12 education. His goal and his passion is to bring technology and people together to accomplish and create great things. A life-long technology evangelist, his firm belief is that the most exciting thing to come to the technology scene in the last ten years is people. Serving NCET as part of a team with exceptional and diverse skills allows him to fulfill his goal with the Reno-Tahoe business community.
Andy is Program Director of Nevada Ready 21, a Nevada Department of Education program to ignite economic development by delivering a 21st century workforce through personalized access to a connected, 21st century education. Andy also plays bass and synth in Reno’s preeminent Avant-Rock combo, Schizopolitans.
Nha Lam – VP of Membership
Nha Lam is a Career Events Project Manager for the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno. She and her team are responsible for coordinating semi-annual career fairs and a variety of networking events for employers to interact with students. In addition, she assists students with resume writing, conducting job searches, and job interviewing skills. Every day she strives to bridge the gap between higher education and employment by connecting business students with leading companies and industries.
Prior to joining the team at the College of Business, Nha worked as a surgery coordinator for a small medical practice in Reno, NV.
Nha earned her B.S. in Business Administration – Marketing from the University of Nevada, Reno and is currently pursuing her M.B.A. at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Melissa Marsh – VP of Tech Bite
Melissa Marsh is founder of HRinDemand, LLC, a Reno-based human resources consultancy company that provides easy-to-use tools and expert guidance to help entrepreneurs and small business owners effectively recruit, hire and manage employees. With over 15 years’ experience in Human Resources, Melissa is able to readily assess an employer’s needs while, with experience and understanding, she helps business owners make sense of the maze of employment regulations that prove difficult to understand and navigate.
Recently, Melissa, via HRinDemand, has focused on providing consulting services to businesses with less than 100 employees via services such as customized employee handbooks, job descriptions, HR policies/procedures, recruiting, hiring, training, surveys, cost savings benefits analysis and employee performance management. She also conducts internal investigations on complaints regarding harassment, discrimination or other employment related complaints. In the late 90s, she began her career in Human Resources in the casino industry and expanded from there in a variety of industries including start-up consulting firms, Fortune 500 organizations, food and beverage, and publishing. Committed to the advancement of her profession, Melissa is a member of the local chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has sat on the organizational committees for Nevada State SHRM Conference (held in October 2012) and The Nevada State Legislative Conference (held in January 2013) and serves as Co-Chair of the Nevada State SHRM Council Workforce Readiness Committee. Melissa is committed to helping Nevada’s entrepreneurial business owners/operators in a variety of ways such as serving as a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and as a member on the Board of Directors of Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.
Melissa’s vast experience proves her ability to be adaptable and attentive to any kind of organization. As a native Nevadan who is graduate of the University of Nevada, the recipient of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and certified Senior HR Professional, Melissa understands people, the Nevada business environment, and the laws that govern employers.

Leslie has been with The Chamber Reno-Sparks-Northern Nevada since 2012. She wears many hats, as do most nonprofit professionals, but is specifically responsible for Chamber programs including Leadership Reno Sparks (LRS), Professional Achievement and Communication Excellence (PACE) Leadership, and the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), having also managed Chamber events and flagship conference, DIRECTIONS.
She loves being involved in the community personally and professionally and has a passion for connecting, sharing, and being a resource.
Leslie enjoys heading home to water her succulents or going out country line dancing.
She has been connected to NCET through partnership with The Chamber and has admired the work they have done and growth achieved. Leslie is, now, very excited to be a part of it as the Vice President of Image Management.

Patrick McFarland – VP of Creative Services
Patrick McFarland is the Director of Marketing at ITS Logistics. He is responsible for corporate marketing and branding, internal and external communication, public relations, community outreach, online and social media presence and sales lead generation. Established in 1999, ITS Logistics is a premier third-party logistics company that provides personalized supply chain solutions with an asset-based dedicated transportation fleet, warehousing and distribution services, and nationwide multi-modal freight brokerage.
Patrick has been a freelance graphic designer for more than 20 years and held full time positions with Greg Mason Advertising Arts, Saint Mary’s Healthcare Network, and most recently, he was the art director of Nevada Silver & Blue magazine and manager of design and publications in development and alumni relations at his alma mater, the University of Nevada. He lives in Reno with his wife, Amy; daughter, Kaylee; and son, Sean. Patrick loves to travel, eat good food, drink good libations, cheer on the Nevada Wolf Pack and explore the beautiful Reno/Tahoe area with family and friends.
Renee McGinnes – VP of Tech Bite
I’m a long time Reno resident, who recently moved back from living in Springfield, Illinois for 4 years. I am married to John, and we have 3 lively boys, Joshua (14), Jordan (13) and Jonathan (11), who keep us both entertained and busy. I love spending time with my family, watching the boys play sports, cooking, reading and dancing.
I am the Director of Community Sales for the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, meaning I represent our elite property in the local community and uncover new business. I love my position because I get to learn about people, help others and make connections. It’s truly a labor of love.
Susan Moreno – VP of Membership
Susan Moreno is the Chief Executive Officer of CVirtual, Inc., a Reno-based Executive and Technical Recruiting firm. After a successful career in hospitality spanning 25 years, Susan’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to the creation of CVirtual with husband David Crumbley in 2013. Together they share the vision of connecting great companies with game-changing talent locally and nationwide. Using the latest video interviewing technologies, CVirtual improves and streamlines the hiring process and provides their client base access to talent pools which might otherwise be unavailable. Susan is great supporter of new technologies that make daily life more simple, safe, efficient and fun.
Susan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and French and is proud to have been named the 2015 Technology Entrepreneur of the Year by NCET.
Jock Ochiltree – VP of Event Services
Jock is a Realtor with Dickson Realty. During his decade as a realtor, he has guided nearly 200 clients in buying or selling their homes. The greatest reward is contributing to their satisfaction with this important life event, minimizing stress through the whole process.
Jock has worked with people to help them buy or sell starter homes, new & resale homes, single family homes & condos, golf or beach or 55+ communities. Jock has been awarded a Five Star Professional Award for exceptional service.
He focuses on being a guide, a counsel, and an adviser, not on being a salesman. Listening and understanding skills are most important. Jock believes analytical skills are important and that a realtor must be tech-savvy. And, above all, a realtor must be committed to his client’s satisfaction.
Real Estate Success (10 years). After building a successful real estate business in northeast Florida, Jock and his wife, Leah moved to Reno to be with their son and grandchildren. Family is so important! They love Reno. It’s a great place to live.
Semiconductor industry (34 years). Jock has worked with all personality types and styles – engineers, marketers, salespersons, accountants – from all over the world. As a result of the breadth of experiences, Jock & his clients always find common ground for understanding and communicating with each other.
Golfer (40+ years). Jock has helped many golfers find the community that suits them best. Balancing investment, cost, lifestyle priorities is an important consideration when choosing a golf community.
Seniors. Jock has worked with seniors for the past several years. As a certified Seniors Real Estate Specialist, he has been trained to provide the service that seniors require. Jock & Leah represented their Jacksonville broker as site agents in a 55+ community in Florida and also lived in one.
Jock’s wife Leah is an interior decorator. Her business is Fresh Perspectives. She provides a strong addition to Jock’s real estate services.
Tracy Rhodes – VP of Website Services
Tracy is a graduate of the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and the AF Institute of Technology in Dayton, OH. He served in the USAF for 20 years as a pilot and aeronautical
engineer. After retiring from the Air Force he was hired as a pilot for Northwest Airlines where he worked for 22 years. In early 2008, while still flying as an airline pilot, he was asked by a
family member if he could make a website they could use to sell handmade pet toys on the Internet. He taught himself website programming and search engine optimization while on
airline layovers around the world. It didn’t take long for him to hear about WordPress. He was impressed with it’s capabilities and flexibility and has been using it ever since. After retiring from airline flying he formed Sierra Web Solutions LLC and now provides website services to a wide range of small businesses and organizations.
Bill Saylor – VP of Finance/Secretary
Bill Saylor is a CPA with Kohn & Company LLP specializing in tax for individuals and businesses. In addition to tax and auditing he brings more than fifteen years of private sector experience in public works, engineering and manufacturing, government contracting, and high-tech to provide effective and insightful consulting to a wide variety of businesses.
Alex Schneider – VP of Newsletters
Alex Schneider is a proven digital problem solver with 10 years experience in website design & development. Currently Interim Supervisor of Web at Renown Health, he leads Renown’s communication web team with a focus on patient experience for all Renown web properties.
His diverse background includes digital strategy, analytics, project management, database management, software development, user-centric design, website development, and photography. He and his team have overseen multiple website overhauls, built patient-favorite systems such as Renown’s Urgent Care Virtual Check-In, and bestmedicinenews.org
Prior to working at Renown Health, Alex worked as a software developer and business analyst in Reno, NV. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in photography from University of California, Chico. When not at work Alex enjoys painting or spending time outdoors with his wife and two dogs.
Russell Smithson – VP of Image Management
Mr. Smithson has worked with McDonald Carano for six years and as Government Affairs Specialist for the past two regular legislative sessions and two special sessions. Mr. Smithson provides research and analytical services to the MCW government affairs team, leveraging his network of contacts to obtain valuable political intent and to advance client interests.
While in high school, Mr. Smithson owned and operated a landscaping company; he was also an honors student and all-state athlete, winning a state championship in track and field and earning all-northern region in the 800m and 1,600m two years in a row. Mr. Smithson volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Charities, cooking meals for families whose children are patients at Renown Regional Medical Center.
A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, Mr. Smithson earned a spot on the Dean’s List at the College of Business over multiple semesters and graduated from UNR in December 2014 with a B.S. in Economics.
Irene Voronel – VP of Communications
Irene Voronel is the owner/broker of Home NV Real Estate in Reno Nevada. She is a dually licensed broker in California and Nevada and has been helping her clients buy and sell real estate for nearly 15 years. In addition to real estate, Irene has also spent two decades in publishing, working for such news outlets as the Los Angeles Times before founding and operating her own media companies. Currently, Irene owns I Love Reno, a community magazine focused on celebrating the spectacular attributes of Northern Nevada. In addition to the magazine, Irene hosts a weekly radio show – The I Love Reno Radio Hour, where the celebration takes place in the form of conversations with local business and community leaders about the transformation happening in our region.
Irene, born and raised in the former Soviet Republic of Ukraine, has earned two undergraduate degrees from California State University Fullerton as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu. Irene enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering her time and serving on various local boards. She loves the great outdoors and takes advantage of Nevada’s beautiful and rugged terrain to spend as much of her free time there as she can.
